The Indian Gymkhana Cricket Club is the largest and longest-standing Asian Sports Club in the United Kingdom (founded 1916). The club is based on privately owned grounds in Osterley, West London. We participate in Middlesex leagues and play competitive cricket. Our success has led us to play in Division 1 for most age groups in the junior section. We are a thriving club with a membership of over 200 active members. Indian Gymkhana is open to members of all races and religions. When the club celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1966, the message was that it aimed to become a multi-racial centre where old and young alike could meet to play sports. The club is committed to cricket excellence without any form of prejudice to race, creed or colour. The clubs cricket section demonstrates true ethnic simulation. The make-up of our teams includes British, Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and West Indians. The religious mix is just as diverse with Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and Christians playing side by side. This is undoubtedly the Cricket Sections true success – its ability to bring together adults and children from all backgrounds through a common purpose, thus placing ethnic and religious differences to one side both on and off the sporting arena.
